Patelco account fees
Patelco Credit Union's consumer fee schedule, effective January 1, 2026, prints a $14.00 paid NSF fee and a $14.00 uncollected funds fee, each per presentment. Debit card paid NSF is a separate $14.00 and the schedule says opt-in is required. The wider table is US overdraft fees by bank. SchoolsFirst, also in California, prints $22 on SchoolsFirst overdraft fee.

What the January 2026 schedule prints
Opened 22 October 2026. The dollars are on Patelco's consumer fee schedule, effective January 1, 2026. Paid NSF is $14.00 per presentment. UCF, uncollected funds, is $14.00 per presentment. Debit card paid NSF is $14.00 and the row says opt-in is required. A non-Patelco ATM is $1.75 per transaction. A stop payment on a check or ACH is $15.00. A domestic outgoing wire is $20.00. A domestic incoming wire is $10.00. An international incoming wire is $15.00. The schedule prints 800.358.8228 as the contact number.
The Free Checking page says no overdraft fees apply to checking accounts opened after April 5, 2023. That sentence is about those accounts. It does not erase the $14.00 rows for an older account. Instant BackUp, on the same page, is a line of credit you enroll in. The page says you pay interest on the amount you borrow. It is not the same line as the $14.00 paid NSF fee.
Not opting in avoids the debit card paid NSF fee. Patelco can then decline the debit card purchase. Checks and ACH can still meet the $14.00 paid NSF row. A fee already charged is a request to remove. Patelco can say no.
