Atlantic Union overdraft fee
Atlantic Union Bank's deposit fee schedule prints $35 when it pays a consumer item the account cannot cover, and at most four combined overdraft and returned item fees in one business day. It does not charge those fees for an item of $5 or less, or when the item leaves the balance overdrawn by $5 or less. If the bank returns the item, its overdraft page says no fee is assessed. The wider list is US overdraft fees by bank. Every overdraft guide is on overdraft fee guides. A yearly total from numbers you type is on the bank fee calculator. It does not look up this institution.

What Atlantic Union prints
Opened 24 October 2026. The deposit account fee schedule prints $35 per item for a consumer overdraft, which is an item the bank pays when the account does not have enough money. The daily limit is four combined overdraft and returned item fees per account per business day. The schedule does not charge those fees for items of $5 or less, or for items that leave the current balance overdrawn by $5 or less. The returned item fee on that schedule is marked for business accounts, at $38 per item.
The overdraft services page says standard coverage can pay checks, automatic bill payments, and recurring debit card payments. It does not cover one time debit card or ATM transactions unless you enroll. The fee is $35 each time the bank pays an overdraft, at most four a day. If the bank does not pay the item, it is returned and no fee is assessed. The page says this service is not available on PRISM Checking. You can remove it by calling 800.990.4828 or visiting a branch.
A fee already charged is a request. Atlantic Union can say no. The US list is US bank fee guides.
The line on your own statement is the one that counts. Upload it on the upload page. The PDF stays on your device. Expenvo lists the lines. It does not call the institution.
| Line | What the pages print |
|---|---|
| Consumer overdraft, item paid | $35 |
| Most combined fees in one business day | 4 |
| Item of $5 or less | No overdraft or returned item fee |
| Overdrawn by $5 or less | No overdraft or returned item fee |
| Item returned unpaid | No fee on the overdraft page |
| PRISM Checking | Standard overdraft service is not available |
How to avoid the fee
Keep enough money for checks and automatic payments, because those can be paid without a separate request. Leave the debit card and ATM enrollment off if you want those purchases declined instead of paid for $35.
An item of $5 or less, or one that leaves you overdrawn by $5 or less, is not charged. If you do not want the bank to pay checks into a negative balance, the page says you can remove the service by phone or at a branch. Removing it does not stop a recurring card payment you already approved with a store.
