The schedule and the accounts that print no fee
Opened 22 October 2026. The schedule is in the personal deposit account agreement, effective September 28, 2026, and marked updated 09/2026. Non-sufficient or uncollected funds, paid or returned, is $25.00 per return or per payment. The maximum is $75.00 per day. The note says there is no fee for an item that generates a negative balance of less than $25.00. An overdraft protection transfer from a linked account is free. A stop payment online is $10.00. A stop payment with assistance is $35.00.
The same agreement prints no non-sufficient funds or overdraft fee on Accelerated Checking, Advisor Private Client Checking, Axos Checking, and Axos One Checking. Advisor Private Client Checking needs a $50,000 average daily balance across personal accounts. Axos Elite Checking and Cashback Checking do not get that same no-fee line in the account features opened here. Use the account name on your statement before you treat the $25 row as yours.
A second or third presentment of a returned ACH or cheque can be a new item. The agreement says Axos can charge each time. Staying under a $25 shortfall avoids the fee on the schedule. A named no-fee checking account avoids it by the account terms. Asking Axos to remove a fee already charged is a request. Axos can say no.
