Cadence Bank overdraft fee

Cadence Bank's overdraft protection page prints a $36 fee when it pays an item, $0 when it returns the item, no fee on a consumer account overdrawn by $10 or less, and at most four paid overdraft fees in one day. Moving money from another Cadence deposit account has no transfer fee. The wider list is US overdraft fees by bank. Every overdraft guide is on overdraft fee guides. A yearly total from numbers you type is on the bank fee calculator. It does not look up this institution.

What the overdraft page prints

Opened 24 October 2026. The overdraft protection page prints a paid overdraft item fee of $36 and a returned item fee of $0. For consumer accounts, it says the paid fee does not apply when the balance is overdrawn by $10 or less, and the number of those fees is limited to four a day. Cadence pays overdrafts at its discretion. It does not promise to pay every item.

The same page says ATM withdrawals and one time debit card purchases are not paid into a negative balance unless you ask. If you do ask, the page says the $36 fee applies each time Cadence pays one of those items, unless a consumer exception applies. Linking another Cadence checking or savings account has no transfer fee. A transfer to a Cadence credit card is 3% of the amount, at least $10 and at most $60. A transfer from a line of credit is $10.

A fee already charged is a request. Cadence can say no. The US list is US bank fee guides.

The line on your own statement is the one that counts. Upload it on the upload page. The PDF stays on your device. Expenvo lists the lines. It does not call the institution.

How to avoid the fee

Link a Cadence checking or savings account if you want the payment covered without the $36 fee. The page says that transfer has no fee. A credit card or a line of credit is not free.

Leave ATM and one time debit coverage off if you would rather have the card declined than pay $36. A returned check or bill payment is $0 on this page. Keep the end of day balance within $10 of zero if you are slightly short. The page says the paid fee does not apply then.
