How to download an Ally statement PDF
Ally's help page says when a statement is sent, and it says a CSV or Quicken file is account activity, not the statement. You save the statement yourself. Expenvo does not sign in to Ally, and the file stays on your device.

What Ally sends

Interest Checking, Money Market, and Savings accounts have a monthly statement cycle. CDs and IRAs are quarterly. If you have a savings or checking account, Ally sends one statement each month, by mail or by email, for all of your accounts, including CDs. A CD that uses electronic transfers gets a monthly statement each time a transfer happens.
The statement date is the day of the month the cycle ends. Ally says that day is based on the day you opened the account. Use that statement PDF. A US dollar Ally Bank statement stays in USD. How to read a statement PDF covers one file per period.
The activity download is not the statement
Ally says you can download account activity. Log in, select the account, scroll to Transactions History, and select the download icon. The file is a CSV or a Quicken QFX file. That is activity, not the monthly statement. Ally also says you can see up to 18 months of account activity online.
Tax forms are a third file. Ally's tax documents page says to log in, select Profile and Settings, then Documents, then Bank Tax Forms. In the app, select Menu, then Statements and Tax Forms. That path is for tax forms. Do not upload a 1099 in place of the monthly statement.
Closed accounts, and Ally Invest
If you closed an account, Ally says you can still open account information online for 60 days. If you closed every Ally Bank account, you can still view statements and tax forms online for the last 7 years. The phone number on that page is 1-877-247-2559. Use the number printed on your statement if it disagrees.
The same page says Ally Bank has no monthly maintenance fee. A fee line, if you see one, is not that monthly fee. US bank fees on a statement is the page for reading a fee that is printed.
Ally Invest is a different account. Ally's Invest account information page says statements are under Profile and Settings, then Statements and Tax Forms, and that confirms, statements, and tax documents stay online for 13 months. A copy of an older monthly statement is $4. The number on that page for a copy is 1-855-880-2559.
Questions
- Does Expenvo sign in to Ally and download the PDF?
- No. You download the PDF from Ally. Expenvo reads that file on your device. It does not ask for the Ally password.
- Is the CSV from Transactions History the statement?
- No. Ally says that download is account activity in a CSV or Quicken file. The statement is the monthly file Ally sends by mail or email.
- How long can I see statements after I close every Ally Bank account?
- Ally says you can view statements and tax forms online for the last 7 years. Account information itself stays online for 60 days after you close an account.
