Lake Michigan overdraft fee
Lake Michigan Credit Union's Courtesy Pay notice, revised 1 October 2024, prints a $30.00 fee each time it pays an overdraft. The same notice says there is no limit on the total fees, and that it typically will not charge more than four overdraft fees a day. What the Courtesy Pay notice prints
Opened 22 October 2026. The paid overdraft dollar is on Lake Michigan's Courtesy Pay notice, revised 1 October 2024. Courtesy Pay is $30.00 each time Lake Michigan pays an overdraft. The notice says there is no limit on the total fees it can charge for overdrawing the account. It also says that, as a courtesy, it typically will not charge more than four overdraft fees a day, and those four can be Courtesy Pay fees, NSF fees, or both. That is not the same thing as a hard daily cap. Do not treat "typically" as a promise. ATM transactions and everyday debit card transactions are not covered unless you opt in. Checks and automatic bill payments are the standard items.
The service fees page prints Courtesy Pay at $30.00 an occurrence, NSF at $30.00 an item for a returned check or debit card, and a returned item fee of $10.00 an item. The returned item row does not say whether that $10.00 is a deposit that came back. Basic Checking is $5.00 a month when the daily balance falls below $300. An outgoing domestic wire is $25.00 and an incoming domestic wire is $10.00. An outgoing international wire is $50.00.
A fee already charged is a request. Lake Michigan can say no. The US list is US bank fee guides. Daily caps that a bank actually prints as a maximum are on multiple overdraft fees in one day.
