Popular Bank overdraft fee
Popular Bank's debit card and ATM overdraft notice prints a fee of up to $34 each time it pays an overdraft, at most three items in one day, and no fee when the account is overdrawn by $50 or less. There is no fee when Popular returns the payment. Easy Access Checking is not covered by this notice. The wider list is US overdraft fees by bank. Every overdraft guide is on overdraft fee guides. A yearly total from numbers you type is on the bank fee calculator. It does not look up this institution.

What the overdraft notice prints
Opened 24 October 2026. The debit card and ATM overdraft notice is for Popular consumer checking, savings, and money market accounts. It says Popular charges up to $34 each time it pays an overdraft. It does not charge a fee when it returns the payment. Only the first three items in a single day are charged. There is no fee when the account is overdrawn by $50 or less.
Checks, other payments that use the checking account number, automatic bill payments, and repeating debit card payments can be paid at Popular's choice. ATM withdrawals and everyday debit card purchases are not paid into a negative balance unless you ask. If you do not ask, those card payments are declined. The notice says it does not apply to Easy Access Checking.
A link to a savings account is offered as a cheaper option. The notice does not print a dollar amount for that link. Ask Popular what that transfer costs before you rely on it.
A fee already charged is a request. Popular can say no. The US list is US bank fee guides.
The line on your own statement is the one that counts. Upload it on the upload page. The PDF stays on your device. Expenvo lists the lines. It does not call the institution.

How to avoid the fee
Stay within $50 of zero if you are slightly short. The notice says there is no fee at $50 overdrawn or less. A returned payment is also not charged by Popular. The person you were paying can still add their own fee.
Do not ask Popular to pay ATM and everyday debit card purchases into a negative balance if you want those declined instead. Easy Access Checking is outside this notice. If that is your account, read its own product page before you assume the $34 fee applies.
