Rockland Trust overdraft fee

Rockland Trust's OKTOPAY disclosure prints a $35 overdraft charge each time it pays an item, at most three of those charges ($105) in one business day, and no charge when the account is overdrawn by $20 or less or the transaction is $5 or less. A separate $35 fee posts on the fifth business day in a row that the account is still negative. Linking another Rockland Trust deposit account has no fee. The wider list is US overdraft fees by bank. Every overdraft guide is on overdraft fee guides. A yearly total from numbers you type is on the bank fee calculator. It does not look up this institution.

What Rockland Trust prints

Opened 24 October 2026. The OKTOPAY disclosure says Rockland charges $35 each time it pays an overdraft, and no more than three of those charges on one business day. It does not charge when the account is overdrawn by $20 or less on a given day, or when the transaction is $5 or less. On the fifth business day in a row that the account stays overdrawn, it charges a $35 negative balance fee. Accounts covered by the Massachusetts 18/65 law are printed at $5 for the overdraft charge, and the negative balance fee is waived.

ATM withdrawals and everyday debit card purchases are not paid unless you enroll in OKTOPAY. Checks, payments that use the account number, automatic bill payments, and repeating debit card payments can be paid at the bank's choice. Renew Checking is not eligible.

The overdraft services page says a link to another Rockland Trust savings, money market, or checking account has no fee. An overdraft line of credit has a $35 annual fee and is subject to credit approval.

A notice of changes effective 1 December 2026 says the $20 test will use the available balance at the end of the business day. Until that date, use the wording on the OKTOPAY disclosure above. The US list is US bank fee guides.

The line on your own statement is the one that counts. Upload it on the upload page. The PDF stays on your device. Expenvo lists the lines. It does not call the institution.

How to avoid the fee

Link another Rockland Trust deposit account if you want the shortfall covered with no transfer fee. That is different from the line of credit, which costs $35 a year.

Leave OKTOPAY off if you want ATM and everyday debit card purchases declined instead of paid. Stay within $20 of zero, and keep a single item at $5 or less, when you want the disclosure's exception. Bring the balance to zero before the fifth business day so the extra $35 does not post.
