WesBanco overdraft fee

WesBanco's consumer fee schedule prints a $35 overdraft fee and a $35 fee when it returns your check or electronic payment. The overdraft page says the paid fee is up to $35, there is no fee when the account is overdrawn by $5 or less or the item is under $1, and the cap is five fees or $175 in one business day. A linked WesBanco savings account or line of credit covers the payment at no cost. The wider list is US overdraft fees by bank. Every overdraft guide is on overdraft fee guides. A yearly total from numbers you type is on the bank fee calculator. It does not look up this institution.

What WesBanco prints

Opened 24 October 2026. The consumer schedule of fees dated 5 November 2025 prints an overdraft fee of $35 per debit and a returned item fee of $35 per item. If the overdraft is still uncovered after the 10th day, and every 10 days after that, the schedule prints a $10 collection fee.

The overdraft options page says WesBanco charges up to $35 each time it pays an overdraft. It does not charge that fee when the account is overdrawn by $5 or less, or when the item is under $1. After 10 days in a row overdrawn, it charges a $10 collection fee, then another $10 every 10 days. The page limits those overdraft fees to five, or $175, in one business day.

Linking the checking account to a WesBanco savings account or a line of credit pulls money to cover the payment at no cost, according to that page. Everyday debit card and ATM withdrawals are not paid into a negative balance unless you ask. If you do not ask, WesBanco says it will not charge an overdraft fee and the card purchase will be declined.

A fee already charged is a request. WesBanco can say no. The US list is US bank fee guides.

The line on your own statement is the one that counts. Upload it on the upload page. The PDF stays on your device. Expenvo lists the lines. It does not call the institution.

How to avoid the fee

Link a WesBanco savings account or a line of credit if you want the payment covered without the $35 fee. The overdraft page says that transfer has no cost.

Leave everyday debit card and ATM coverage off if you would rather have the card declined. A declined card purchase is not charged an overdraft fee. Keep the shortfall at $5 or less, or the item under $1, when the page's exception applies. Bring the balance back up before the 10th day so the $10 collection fee does not start.
