What a Compass charge means on your statement
People look up COMPASS, COMPASS WEB, and COMPASS ACCOUNT because that is the text on the statement. TransLink's Compass pages do not print COMPASS WEB or COMPASS ACCOUNT. They tell you how a card load is charged.

What the charge is
A Compass Card is TransLink's reloadable card for transit in Metro Vancouver. You can also use a registered card for the Bike Parkade. Stored value and passes are loaded onto the card. A tap on the transit system deducts the fare from that balance. That tap is not a new charge on your bank card. The bank or card line is the load you paid for online, by phone, or with AutoLoad.
TransLink's Compass page and the Compass help pages do not print COMPASS WEB or COMPASS ACCOUNT as the statement name. Match the date and the amount to a load, not to a single bus trip.
Where to see the load
TransLink says to sign in at compasscard.ca, open My Cards, and use view card usage for stored value and pass purchases. Receipts also go to the email on the account. For AutoLoad history, open My Cards, then Card Usage, and filter Sales transaction.
AutoLoad charges the credit card or bank account when you tap and the product is loaded. A Monthly Pass AutoLoad can load during the last five days of the month. TransLink's example is a tap on May 28 that loads the June pass. As of Jan. 16, 2024, online Compass payment and AutoLoad enrollment do not accept debit or credit cards from outside Canada. The accepted cards are American Express, Mastercard, Debit Mastercard, Visa, and Visa Debit issued by Canadian financial institutions.
Amounts TransLink prints, and who to call
Returning a Compass Card to the TransLink Customer Service Centre at Waterfront Station, or by mail with the refund form, reimburses the $6 deposit and any remaining balance, or the deposit minus a negative balance. Enrolling in Bike Parkade charges $8, which Compass adds to the card as stored value. Those figures are the ones TransLink prints. They are not a guess at the line on your statement.
To change the card on the account, Compass says to open My Account, or call 604.398.2042. Compass Customer Service is also 1-888-207-4055. Upload the statement to Expenvo and it lists repeating charges it finds. A one time load is not a subscription. Expenvo does not change your Compass account. Steps for stopping the next charge are on how to cancel a subscription you found on a statement.
