What a Duolingo charge means on your statement

A Duolingo line is usually Super Duolingo or another paid plan renewing. Cancel it where you started it. Duolingo's help page does not print the letters a bank puts on the statement, and it does not print a US dollar price.

Cancel where the subscription started

Opened 17 October 2026. Duolingo's cancel page says you can cancel Super Duolingo at any time, and you have to use the place where it started. Deleting the app or the account does not cancel the subscription.

If you subscribed in the Duolingo app on iOS or Android: open the app, tap the Super icon at the top of the home screen, tap Settings (the gear), tap Manage subscription, select Cancel subscription, then confirm in the Google Play Store, the App Store, or Alipay. If you subscribed from the phone's own settings, Android uses a Duolingo support request, and iOS follows Apple's instructions. On the website: sign in, click your profile picture, choose Settings, select Super Duolingo, then Cancel subscription and confirm.

What happens after you cancel

Duolingo says your streak and learning progress stay. You can use Super features for the rest of the period you already paid. Automatic billing stops. You can subscribe again later. Canceling does not refund past charges, and Duolingo says it will not prorate a fee based on the day you cancel.

If the subscription has a problem, Duolingo says to submit a bug report and choose Purchase Issue. It also says it cannot access the iOS App Store or fix a problem inside that store. The terms, last revised September 8, 2025, say a subscription renews for the same length of time unless you log in and follow the cancel steps, even if you already deleted the account. Payments are nonrefundable, including a partly used period, unless the law where you live requires otherwise. After you cancel, access lasts through the current billing period. Purchases made through Apple or Google are refunded by Apple or Google, not by Duolingo.

A free trial code is a different clock

The same terms describe an extended free trial code for a plan such as Super Duolingo or Duolingo Max. Someone who already subscribes cannot use one. You can redeem only one extended free trial code per calendar year. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before that trial ends, you become a recurring subscriber and the payment method is charged the plan price. If you cancel during the trial, access ends when the trial ends. The terms do not print that price.

The cancel page and the terms do not print a card descriptor. Look for Duolingo on the statement, then match the date and the amount in the subscription screen. Every charge guide is listed on what is this charge on my statement. Upload the statement on Expenvo. The PDF stays on your device. Steps for stopping the next charge are on how to cancel a subscription you found on a statement.

Questions

Does deleting Duolingo cancel Super?
No. The cancel page says deleting the app or the account does not cancel the subscription. Cancel in the app store or on the website, depending on where it started.
Will Duolingo refund the last charge?
The cancel page says canceling does not refund past charges and does not prorate them. The terms say payments are nonrefundable unless the law requires otherwise, and Apple or Google handle refunds for their stores.
Does Duolingo print the statement letters or a US price?
Not on the cancel page or the terms opened here. Match the date and the amount in the Duolingo subscription screen.
