Discover bank account fees
This page is the Discover Cashback Debit deposit account. It is not the Discover credit card. A foreign purchase on the card is a different product, on [Discover foreign transaction fee](/guides/discover-foreign-transaction-fee). How to save a Discover PDF is on [download a Discover statement](/guides/download-discover-statement).

Cashback Debit
Opened 21 October 2026. Discover's Cashback Debit page says there are no account-related fees. The fee it does print is a $30 service charge for each outgoing wire. The FAQ on that page says there are more than 60,000 fee-free ATMs. An ATM owner can still charge you outside that network. The phone on the page is 1-800-347-7000.
Cash back on debit purchases is not a fee. The page describes 1% cash back on up to $3,000 of debit purchases a month. That line is a reward, not a charge.
The line on your own statement is the one that counts. Upload it on the upload page. The PDF stays on your device. Expenvo lists the lines. It does not call the institution.
| Line | What the page prints |
|---|---|
| Account-related fees | None |
| Outgoing wire | $30 service charge each |
| ATMs in the fee-free network | No Discover fee. The page says more than 60,000 |
| ATM outside that network | The ATM owner may charge |
Three different overdraft programs
Keep these apart. They are not one program with three names.
The Overdraft Protection Service Agreement says there is no fee for the Overdraft Protection Service. It moves money from a Discover savings or money market account. It does not cover ATM withdrawals or a purchase at a store with the debit card. Discover makes one transfer per business day. You can still deposit and avoid the transfer until 8 p.m. ET the day after the item posts.
Balance+ terms say there is no charge and no interest. It covers debit card transactions only. It does not cover savings or money market, checks, ATM withdrawals, or Zelle. Eligibility is generally one qualifying direct deposit of $200 or more each month for two calendar months in a row, a positive balance, and the account in good standing. The terms call the amount Discover will cover a certain limit Discover specifies. This page does not turn that sentence into a dollar.
A third description, on Discover's online banking pages, is a no-fee overdraft for checks, ACH, and recurring debit, with an option for everyday debit and ATM. That one asks for regular deposits of at least $250 during two of the previous three calendar months. Read the agreement that matches the service on your account before you treat one set of rules as the other.
