What a PayByPhone parking charge means on your statement
PayByPhone is the app and phone line people use to pay for parking. The app's History and receipts list each payment the same way it would appear on the card statement.

Why the line looks like that
PayByPhone's receipts article says that under a parking session, each transaction is listed with its payment method, the same way it would appear on your credit card statement. The article does not print one fixed descriptor such as PAYBYPHONE, so match the line in the app instead of guessing the letters.
The parking rate is set by the city or the private parking operator, not by PayByPhone. The app and the account are free to download. Some operators add a service fee when a payment is processed. SMS reminders can cost extra.
How to match the charge
In the app, PayByPhone says to open Account, then History and receipts, then the parking session. The session shows the location, the vehicle, the vendor, the start and end, and the total. Guest parking is not stored there. A guest receipt is only the email from the time you paid.
The date on the statement can differ from the date in the app. PayByPhone says the bank can post the payment later. Compare the session in History and receipts, where each transaction is listed as it would appear on the statement. A new card can show a $0.00 authorization. PayByPhone says that authorization disappears within a few business days.
Fees in the US and Canada
PayByPhone's free page says some locations add a small service fee, typically less than $0.50 USD or £0.35 GBP, set by the parking operator. A second PayByPhone page says the app sometimes adds a small fee, often under $0.50 (USD/CAD) or £0.35 (GBP). Those are two wordings from PayByPhone. The fee you pay is the one shown before you confirm.
In Canada, PayByPhone says taxes such as GST or PST are applied by the parking operator, not by PayByPhone. A parking ticket or a local rule is also the operator's, not PayByPhone's. There is no monthly invoice. PayByPhone says monthly invoices are not available.
Upload the statement to Expenvo and it lists every subscription it finds. A parking session is usually a one time payment, not a subscription. Expenvo does not pay the meter or dispute a ticket for you.
