Savings excess withdrawal fees at US banks

An excess withdrawal fee is a charge for using a savings or money market account more often than that account allows. It is not an NSF fee. The idea, and the TD Canada Trust dollars, are on [excess withdrawal fees](/guides/excess-withdrawal-fee). This page is the US schedules opened on 20 October 2026.

Schedules that print a dollar

Opened 20 October 2026. A monthly maintenance fee is a different line. TD Bank, N.A. in the United States is not TD Canada Trust. The line on your own statement is the one that counts. Upload it on the upload page. The PDF stays on your device. Expenvo lists the lines. It does not sign in to the bank.

Opened 20 October 2026. US dollars. One bank per row.

PNC consumer schedule, effective 31 May 2026$3.00 eachTransaction Limit Fee, for each transaction past the number allowed from a savings or money market account in the monthly statement period. Footnote 11 says the fee applies after six restricted transfers in a monthly service charge period. Restricted transfers include transfers to other accounts, including overdraft protection, and transfers to third parties by check, point of sale, debit card, preauthorized agreement, telephone, or online. PNC says it may suspend or change that limit. The $3 is not the $5 Standard Savings monthly service charge.
TD Bank personal fee schedule, 5911-RET (07/26)$3.00 per item on money market and savingsThe line is excess pre-authorized withdrawals, transfers, or checks. Footnote 12 describes a fee after six of those items in a monthly statement period. Footnote 13 says a savings overdraft protection transfer counts. Club accounts are a separate line: $3.00 per withdrawal after three in a monthly period. The same PDF has a waiver chart. Match the excess column before you assume Signature Savings or a Private Tiered account pays the $3.

A bank that prints no fee, and banks that print no dollar

Ally's online savings page limits certain withdrawals and transfers to 10 per statement cycle. It says there is no fee for going over the limit, and that Ally will close the account if you go over on more than an occasional basis. The examples include online and mobile transfers, overdraft transfer service, checks, and point-of-sale purchases, depending on the account. No fee is not the same as no limit.

Capital One's 360 savings page prints no monthly or maintenance fee. It does not print an excess withdrawal dollar. That silence is not a promise of $0.

Chase's personal Additional Banking Services and Fees document, effective 14 June 2026, does not list an excess savings withdrawal fee. Wells Fargo's online banking fee schedule and the Way2Save page opened the same day do not print one either. Citizens' personal deposit guide, revised October 2026, does not print an excess withdrawal dollar on the savings and money market sections. An IRA line that says there is no bank penalty for early withdrawal is a retirement withdrawal, not this fee.

Questions

Does PNC charge $3 for every savings withdrawal?
No. The 31 May 2026 consumer schedule prints $3.00 for each restricted transfer after six in a monthly service charge period. The footnote lists which transfers count, and it says PNC may suspend the limit.
Is Ally's 10-withdrawal limit a fee?
The online savings page says there is no fee for going over 10 limited withdrawals and transfers in a statement cycle. It also says the account can be closed if that happens more than occasionally.
Is this the TD Canada Trust $5 savings fee?
No. TD Canada Trust's Every Day, ePremium, and Growth savings fees are on the excess withdrawal page. TD Bank, N.A. prints $3.00 on its US personal schedule, file 5911-RET (07/26), for the money market and savings line described above.
