NSF, overdraft protection, and a few other lines
The NSF row is marked effective 12 March 2026. Canadian dollar accounts are CA $10.00. U.S. dollar accounts are US $5.00. The footnote says the NSF fee may be applied only once within a two-business-day period, and it is not charged if the account is overdrawn by less than $10. Each time a merchant or another institution presents the item and there is not enough money, Alterna may reject it and charge the fee. A later presentment can be charged again, outside that two-business-day limit.
Overdraft protection is $2.50 per month. Footnote 17 says that fee is not applicable to Quebec residents. An Interac ATM withdrawal is $1.90, and the ATM owner can add its own surcharge. A U.S. ATM withdrawal on Visa Debit, Visa PLUS, ACCEL, Cirrus, or Maestro is $3.00. An international ATM withdrawal on those networks is $5.00. The foreign transaction fee is 2.5% of the transaction value. An incoming wire is $10.00, and other parties can still charge. An outgoing wire is $30.00. An eStatement, including cheque images, is free. A paper All-in-One statement is free on Basic, Value, and Unlimited, $1 on Pay As You Go and on some savings rows, and $2 on eChequing and eSavings. A statement reprint or interim statement is $3.25.
Certified cheque and bank draft dollars on this PDF are already on certified cheque fees in Canada. The download steps, and the reminder that Alterna Savings uses a different login, are on how to download an Alterna statement. The big-bank monthly table does not include Alterna Bank. It is on monthly chequing account fees by bank.
The line on your own statement is the one that counts. Upload it on the upload page. The PDF stays on your device. Expenvo lists the lines. It does not call the bank.
