How to download an Alterna Savings or Alterna Bank statement

Use the right website

Alterna Bank's senior support page says Alterna Savings members cannot log in on the Alterna Bank site, or the other way around. Alterna Savings is alterna.ca. Alterna Bank is alternabank.ca. If the login fails, check the site before you reset the password. The same Alterna Bank page says that if the account number or user ID starts with a zero, enter it without the zero and try again.

Alterna Savings' online banking FAQ says that for most members the Login ID is the member number. You can find that number on a statement, at the bottom of a cheque, or by calling the contact centre. Business members are assigned a Login ID the first time they enter the newer online banking system.

Open the eStatement

Alterna Savings' online banking FAQ says to log in, choose the Product and Services tab, and select view eStatements for current and past banking statements. The senior support page on alterna.ca describes a second path: log in, select View eStatements in the left hand menu on the My Accounts screen, choose the statement from the list, then view or print it, including cheque images.

Alterna Bank's senior support page uses that same My Accounts path: log in, View eStatements on the left, choose the statement, then view or print, including cheque images. The two pages do not print how many years stay online. Save the PDF when you have it. A photo of the screen is harder to read later.

What the fee PDF says

Alterna Bank's personal service fee PDF prints eStatement as free. A paper All in One statement is $1.00, or $2.00 on eChequing and eSavings accounts. A statement reprint and an interim statement are $3.25. Those paper and reprint dollars are Alterna Bank's schedule, not a price copied onto Alterna Savings. If you only need the file, use the free eStatement path.

Can I use my Alterna Savings login on Alterna Bank?

No. Alterna Bank's page says Alterna Savings members cannot log in on the Alterna Bank site, and the reverse is also true.

Where is the PDF?

Log in on the correct site. Alterna Savings documents both the Product and Services tab and the View eStatements link on My Accounts. Alterna Bank documents the My Accounts link. Choose the statement, then view or print it.

Does Alterna Bank charge for the eStatement?

The personal service fee PDF prints eStatement as free. Paper statements and reprints have their own dollars on that PDF.
