What a LEMSQZY or Lemon Squeezy charge means

LEMSQZY* on a card is Lemon Squeezy, a merchant of record for software and digital goods. The statement descriptor page opened 17 October 2026 prints the exact pattern. It does not print a price list, and this guide does not invent one.

The descriptor Lemon Squeezy prints

Lemon Squeezy's statement descriptor page says that when customers purchase through a store they will see LEMSQZY*STORE on the bank statement. STORE is the actual store id, not the word STORE left as is. Because Lemon Squeezy acts as the merchant of record, its name appears in the payment descriptor. The page tells sellers to point customers who have questions to that same page.

A store id is a short label. It may not be the product name you remember from the website. Match the date and the amount to the receipt email, then the store id. The docs page does not print a required phone number, a refund dollar, or a list of every product billed this way. Do not treat a blog's sample line as the official descriptor. The official pattern is LEMSQZY* plus the store id. Other payment processors use their own prefixes. Paddle's is on what a Paddle charge means. Stripe's is on what a Stripe charge means.

Why the software company's name is missing

Merchant of record means Lemon Squeezy is the seller on the card network, and the software maker is the store behind that charge. The statement can therefore say LEMSQZY* and a store id even when you thought you paid the app developer directly. That is the arrangement the docs page describes. It is not a sign that the bank added a fee on top.

A repeating LEMSQZY* line can be a subscription for that store. One statement can miss a yearly renewal. Compare several months before you decide a charge is new. How to read repeating lines is on find subscriptions from a statement. How to stop a plan is on how to cancel a subscription. Lemon Squeezy's descriptor page does not print the click path inside a store's customer portal, so use the receipt from that store for the cancel steps.

What to check before you dispute it

Confirm the line really starts with LEMSQZY*. Write down the store id, the date, and the amount. Search email for Lemon Squeezy and for the store id. If a family member bought a tool or a game add on, the card can still show LEMSQZY*. If nobody recognizes it, the docs page says the seller should point you to that page, and you can also ask the card issuer. A purchase dispute is not the same as asking a bank to waive a monthly account fee. Account fees are on US bank fees and Canadian bank fees.

Upload the statement on Expenvo. The PDF stays on your device. Expenvo groups the same merchant when a similar amount shows up again about a week, a month, or a year apart, and it lists a line that already says membership or subscription. You can also mark a name yourself. It does not cancel the plan, and it does not count the charge as savings. One month can miss a yearly renewal. The longer checklist is find subscriptions from a statement.

Questions

What does LEMSQZY*STORE mean?
Lemon Squeezy's statement descriptor page says customers see LEMSQZY*STORE, and STORE is replaced by the actual store id. Lemon Squeezy is the merchant of record, so its name appears on the charge.
Why is the app developer not the name on the card?
The docs page says Lemon Squeezy's name appears because it is the merchant of record for the transaction. The store id after the star is how you tell stores apart.
Does this page list Lemon Squeezy prices?
No. The statement descriptor page opened 17 October 2026 does not print a price. Match the amount on your statement to the receipt for that store.
