How to download a National Bank statement PDF

National Bank's help page lists the clicks for a browser and for the app. The browser steps end with a download. Expenvo does not sign in to National Bank, and the PDF stays on your device.

In a web browser

These steps are from National Bank's How do I view my bank statement online?

Sign in to online banking. Select the bank account, then click Documents and statements. Choose the document type and the time period, then click Search. Download the statements.

The file you want is that statement. A transaction list on the account screen is not the same file. A Canadian dollar statement stays in C$. How to read a statement PDF covers one statement per file.

In the app

The same page says: sign in to the National Bank app, select the bank account, then click More. Click Documents and statements. Select the time frame and click Search. Select the statement you want to view.

The app steps stop at viewing the statement. They do not name a separate save button, so this guide does not invent one. If you need the file on your computer, use the browser steps, which say to download it. After you upload the PDF, Expenvo lists the charges, the bank fees, and the subscriptions on your device.

Questions

Does Expenvo sign in to the bank and download the PDF for me?
No. You download the PDF from the bank or card site. Expenvo reads that file on your device. It does not ask for the bank password.
Can I upload a photo of the statement instead?
A photo is harder to read. Use the PDF the bank creates, with text you can select. If the file asks for a password, download a copy that does not. Expenvo cannot open a locked PDF.
What if the menu names do not match this page?
Banks move buttons. Follow the official help page linked below. This guide is a reading of that page, not a second set of rules.
