Does Expenvo sign in to the bank and download the PDF for me?

No. You download the PDF from the bank or card site. Expenvo reads that file on your device. It does not ask for the bank password.

Can I upload a photo of the statement instead?

A photo is harder to read. Use the PDF the bank creates, with text you can select. If the file asks for a password, download a copy that does not. Expenvo cannot open a locked PDF.

How to download a Vancity statement PDF

Vancity says a bank account eStatement is under More, then eStatements, and that you can view or download it. The app uses the three dots next to the account. Expenvo does not sign in to Vancity, and the PDF stays on your device.

A bank account

These steps are from Vancity's eStatements page.

In digital banking, log in, select an account, and click More inside the account. Select eStatements, then choose the statement you want to view or download. In the mobile app, log in, tap the three dots next to an account, tap eStatements, choose the statement, and scroll down to finish the download.

Vancity says bank account eStatements stay in Online Banking for 7 years. Save the PDF from that download. A list of recent transactions is not the statement.

A Visa statement

The same page gives a different path for a credit card. In digital banking, log in, select the credit card, and click the Statements quick action. On the Manage my Visa card website, log in and select View eStatements from the I want to menu.

Vancity says enviro Visa eStatements can be viewed in Online Banking for up to 12 months, or on Manage my Visa card for up to 24 months. Vancity's Visa online banking page says Visa eStatements are for the primary cardholder, can be viewed or downloaded as PDFs, and are not in the Vancity mobile app. Use the website steps for a Visa PDF.

A Canadian dollar statement stays in C$. After you upload the PDF, Expenvo lists the charges, the bank fees, and the subscriptions on your device.
