The March 2026 personal notice

Opened 21 October 2026. Manulife Bank's NSF notice says that effective 12 March 2026 the NSF fee for personal deposit accounts is reduced to $10 per occurrence. A maximum of one NSF fee may be applied after 2 business days per account. No NSF fee is charged if the account is overdrawn by less than $10. The notice says there are no changes to business accounts.

The products named on that notice are the Personal Advantage Account (non-registered), All In Banking, and the Personal US$ Advantage Account. If a payment is processed and there are not enough available funds, the transaction may be declined and an NSF fee may apply. If the same payment is submitted again later, Manulife says it may be treated as a new transaction.

The notice suggests balance alerts in online banking, a review of scheduled payments, a buffer in the account, and overdraft protection. It does not print the overdraft interest or a monthly overdraft price, so this page does not invent one. The wider NSF table is on Canada NSF fees by bank.

Do not use the 2018 $45 line for a personal account

Manulife's personal accounts services and fees guide is marked effective 14 May 2018. Its header says those charges apply to Canadian and U.S. dollar business deposit accounts. That file prints $45.00 if a payment is returned, and $5.00 if a payment is made, plus overdraft interest on the amount in overdraft. The March 2026 notice is the personal-account change. Do not copy $45.00 onto a Personal Advantage, All In Banking, or Personal US$ Advantage account.
