Neo Financial chequing fees
Neo Chequing does not have overdraft. The help centre opened for this page still prints a $0 NSF fee. Neo's own change notice says three chequing fees start on 1 January 2027 unless a paid membership waives them.

What applies before 1 January 2027
Opened 21 October 2026. Neo's overdraft help page, dated 5 June 2026, says Neo accounts do not offer overdrafts or overdraft protection. If Neo Chequing, Neo Everyday, Neo Savings, or Neo High-Interest Savings does not have enough for a withdrawal or payment, the transaction is declined and Neo says you will not incur an NSF fee. The older money account fee schedule, correct as of 13 February 2023, also prints the NSF fee as free, along with a free monthly account fee, free Interac e-Transfer send and receive, and free bill pay. A printed statement you ask Neo to print is $5.00 on that 2023 schedule.
Those pages are the current no-fee sentences. They are not a promise that the price stays $0 after the date in the change notice.
What Neo says starts on 1 January 2027
Neo's October 2026 changes page says most agreement changes take effect 1 October 2026, and that Neo Chequing account fees take effect 1 January 2027. The table prints an NSF fee of $4.99, a cash withdrawal with the Neo Money card of $1.50, and an Interac e-Transfer send of $1 per transfer. Before that date the same table prints $0 for each of those three. The fees are $0 with Neo Start, Build, or Grow. Essentials does not waive them. The page says Neo Start is coming soon, at $0 with any payroll deposit to Neo Chequing, or $4.99 a month without one.
Membership prices on that page, from 1 October 2026, are Build at $9.99 a month, previously $7.99, and Grow at $14.99 a month, previously $12.99. Essentials stays free. A membership that used to be $0 because of a savings balance is no longer $0 for that reason. A World Elite Mastercard with Neo still gets Build for $0 while that account stays open. Neo says you can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel in the app. A downgrade or a change of how you pay the fee takes effect on the first day of the next month. An upgrade is charged right away.
The same notice says Neo still does not describe an overdraft on the chequing account. Neo Advance is a separate cash advance Neo says is coming later, with 0% interest, included with Start, Build, and Grow when it launches. Footnote 1 says Neo does not guarantee that future feature. Statement steps, including the $2.50 paper credit card statement, are on how to download a Neo Financial statement.
The line on your own statement is the one that counts. Upload it on the upload page. The PDF stays on your device. Expenvo lists the lines. It does not call the bank.
