Old National Bank overdraft fee

The $36 fee
Opened 21 October 2026. The figures are from the Old National overdraft solutions page. Overdraft Courtesy may pay checks, in-person withdrawals, bill payments, and recurring debit card payments. The page says the bank charges a paid NSF or overdraft item fee of $36 for each paid item that overdraws the account by more than $25, and not for more than 2 paid items per day.
If the account stays overdrawn for 7 or more consecutive business days, the same page charges a $7 daily overdraft fee each business day the account is overdrawn by more than $25, beginning on day 7, for up to 5 business days. When an item is returned unpaid, the page says Old National does not charge an NSF fee. Client Care on that page is 1-800-731-2265.

How to avoid it
The $36 is not charged when the overdraft is $25 or less, and it is not charged on more than two paid items in a day. A returned item is a different outcome, and the page says that return has no NSF fee. The $7 daily fee starts only after the account has been overdrawn for 7 consecutive business days, and only while it is still overdrawn by more than $25.
Overdraft Protection links another Old National checking, savings, or money market account, or a line of credit. The client service page says there is no annual fee for that service. The transfer is the amount needed to cover the overdraft at the end of the business day. EZ Access, the checkless account, is a separate account and its page says it has no overdraft fees.
