The $45 fee
Opened 21 October 2026. The dollars are on the Steinbach personal service fees page. The page says fees were last updated 3 February 2025 and can change without notice. NSF items are $45.00. Overdraft items are $5.00. Charge back is $5.00. The page does not print a daily cap on the NSF row, so this guide does not invent one.
An Interac e-Transfer on that same list is $1.00. A paper statement is $2.00. Those are not the NSF line. The Overdraft Link Line page prints 18.0% on an approved credit limit, from $500 to $5,000, and describes it as a way to avoid NSF charges. That interest rate is not an NSF fee.

How to avoid it
The $45 row and the $5 overdraft row are different lines on the same page. A statement can show one of them, or both, depending on what posted. This guide does not add them into one fee.
The Overdraft Link Line is optional credit from $500 to $5,000, linked to a primary chequing account. The borrowing page says the point is to avoid NSF charges. The 18.0% rate is the cost of that credit, not a substitute for the $45 row if an NSF item still posts. Steinbach is a Manitoba credit union. The $10 federal NSF cap on personal deposit accounts does not rewrite this schedule.
