Foreign currency cash order fees at US banks

Ordering foreign bills from a bank can be a printed service fee, a markup inside the exchange rate, or both. This page is the service fee TD Bank and Citizens print. Chase, Wells Fargo, and Bank of America, which describe a rate and do not print this kind of service fee, are on [US branch foreign currency exchange](/guides/us-branch-foreign-currency-exchange). A card purchase abroad is on [US debit card foreign transaction fees](/guides/us-debit-card-foreign-transaction-fees).

The service fee on the schedule

Opened 20 October 2026. The exchange rate is separate. A fee schedule can print $7.50 and still build a markup into the rate. This page does not turn a missing percent into zero. The line on your own statement is the one that counts. Upload it on the upload page. The PDF stays on your device. Expenvo lists the lines. It does not sign in to the bank.

Footnote 7 says these fees apply to account-holder orders placed in a store and online at foreigncurrency.td.com. Footnote 6 says foreign exchange products are provided by TD Bank, N.A.'s affiliate, The Toronto-Dominion Bank. This is TD Bank in the United States, not TD Canada Trust.
Citizens$15 for a customerPersonal deposit guide, revised October 2026. The line is Foreign currency exchange, Customer. Footnote 1 waives it for Quest, Private Client, and Private Bank checking, savings, and money market customers. A non-customer dollar is not on this personal guide.

This is not a wire and not a foreign cheque

A wire sends money to an account. Those dollars are on US wire transfer fees. A cheque drawn in another currency is on foreign currency cheque fees at Canadian banks when the account is Canadian. TD Bank's $7.50 is for banknotes ordered in a store or online. It is not the wire line on the same PDF.

Questions

Does TD Bank charge $7.50 on every foreign cash order?
The 07/26 personal schedule prints $7.50 for foreign currency banknotes in store and online, and $17.50 when the order is less than $250. Both lines are on the schedule. Use the one that matches the order size.
Is Citizens' $15 the same as a 3 percent card fee?
No. The $15 is the foreign currency exchange line in the personal deposit guide. A debit or credit card fee is a percent of a purchase. They are different charges.
Do Chase, Wells Fargo, and Bank of America print this service fee?
Not on the pages collected for the branch foreign currency guide. That page says what they print about the rate. It does not copy a dollar they did not print. Use it for those three banks.
