How to ask about a Wells Fargo Autograph Journey annual fee
Wells Fargo Autograph Journey is a travel card with a printed annual fee. The terms page prints $95. A $50 airline credit posts only after an airline purchase of at least $50. That credit is not a waiver of the $95. The Autograph card without Journey in the name is a different product. Asking Wells Fargo to remove a fee already charged is a request.

The $95 on the terms page
Opened 19 October 2026. The Autograph Journey terms print an annual fee of $95. Purchase and balance transfer APRs are 19.74%, 25.74%, or 28.74%, based on creditworthiness, and they vary with the U.S. Prime Rate. The cash advance and overdraft protection APR is 29.74%. The cash advance fee is either $10 or 5% of the amount of each advance, whichever is greater. The foreign transaction fee is none. A late payment fee is up to $40. If interest is charged, the minimum interest charge is $1.00. Wells Fargo says the rates and fees are correct as of September 2026 and may have changed, and to call 1-866-229-6633 to check. The same page says that as of 10/19/2026 the U.S. Prime Rate is 7.00%. A later prime rate can move the APR. The card marketing page also prints the $95 annual fee and no foreign transaction fee, and it points back to these terms.
You may not be eligible for introductory rates, fees, or a rewards bonus if you have an Autograph Journey Visa or opened one within the last 48 months, even if that account is closed and the balance is $0. That rule is about a new offer. It is not a waiver of a fee on an open card. Foreign transaction fees at other issuers are on US foreign transaction fees by card issuer. This card's terms print none. The $50 airline credit does not pay the annual fee
The terms say that each year you receive a one time $50 statement credit when you use the card for your first airline purchase of at least $50. Wells Fargo applies the credit automatically. It shows within 1 to 2 billing periods after you earn it. The purchase has to be at a retailer in the merchant category for airlines and air carriers. Charter flights and private jet flights are not included. If you never buy an airline ticket, the credit does not post. Even when it does, $50 is not $95. Write them as two lines if both appear.
A balance transfer fee is also separate. The terms print an introductory fee of either $5 or 3% of each balance transfer, whichever is greater, for 120 days from account opening, then up to 5% with a minimum of $5. Interest on cash advances and balance transfers starts on the transaction date. Do not file those under the annual fee. How to ask about a card annual fee is the general page. What to ask
Use the phone number on the statement if it is printed there. The terms page lists 1-866-229-6633 for rate and fee changes. Have the date, the fee name, and the amount. Ask whether the charge is the $95 annual fee, a cash advance fee, or a late fee. If you made an airline purchase of at least $50 and the $50 credit is missing, ask which billing period it should appear in. Then ask Wells Fargo to review the annual fee or remove it. They can say no. This page has no success rate. If the answer is no, ask about a product change and the last day to close before the next annual fee. This page does not tell you to close the card. To see the line, use how to download a Wells Fargo statement.
Upload the statement on Expenvo. The PDF stays on your device. Expenvo lists the lines. It does not sign in to the bank or the card company, and it does not cancel a card or a purchase.
Questions
- Does the $50 airline credit cancel the $95 fee?
- No. The terms describe a $50 statement credit after your first airline purchase of at least $50 in a year. The annual fee on the same terms is $95. They are different lines.
- Is there a foreign transaction fee?
- The Autograph Journey terms opened on 19 October 2026 print none for foreign currency conversion and foreign transactions. Wells Fargo says those terms were current as of September 2026 and can change. Check the terms or call 1-866-229-6633.
- What if I had this card before?
- The terms say you may not get introductory rates, fees, or a rewards bonus if you have Autograph Journey or opened one in the last 48 months, even if it is closed with a $0 balance. That does not by itself remove an annual fee on a card you still have.
- Will Wells Fargo remove an annual fee it already charged if I ask?
- They might, and they might not. Asking is a request. Nothing on this page says Wells Fargo has to waive a fee already on the statement.
