What the product page prints
Opened 20 October 2026. The page says there is no fee unless you overdraw the account. If you do, you pay a minimum charge of $4 or interest, whichever is greater. The product table prints a monthly fee of $0, no NSF fees and no holds, a limit from $500 to $5000, interest of 17.25%, and no expiry date. Interest is calculated daily on the daily closing overdrawn balance at 17.25% per year, and it is charged and payable monthly.
The same page says you can withdraw cash and make transfers and point of sale payments up to the authorized limit. It compares repayment to a credit card: pay the required payment or the whole balance, and bring the balance back to positive on a regular basis. If the overdraft is not brought positive monthly, ATB says the branch reviews an overdraft report each week and will contact you.
A joint account can have the protection. Both holders must qualify, and both are responsible for repaying what is owed. Changing who is on the account requires a new application. ATB says it shares account information with credit bureaus. The page says an overdraft balance will not affect your credit score unless it is left unpaid and referred to a collection agency.
The line on your own statement is the one that counts. Upload it on the upload page. The PDF stays on your device. Expenvo lists the lines. It does not call the bank.
This is not the NSF line
NSF is the fee when a payment is returned. ATB's overdraft page says that fee is not charged while this protection covers the item. The $10 NSF amount on personal accounts is a different document, on ATB NSF fee. The monthly account fee for the Unlimited Account is on how to waive an ATB monthly fee. The big bank overdraft table does not include ATB. It is on Canada overdraft fees by bank.
