An ATB NSF fee is the charge when a payment is returned because the account did not have the money. The personal additional services list dated 1 June 2026 prints $10.00, with two limits on how often it is charged.

The $10 fee and the two limits

Opened 20 October 2026. The PDF lists NSF items as cheques, EFTs, ATB Financial loan and mortgage payments, and US cheques. The fee on personal accounts is $10.00. It says no more than one NSF fee will be charged within a two business day period per account. It also says no NSF fee will be charged if the debit puts the account into an overdraft of $10 or less.

Fees in that PDF are in Canadian dollars except on a US dollar account, where fees are charged in US dollars. The NSF line itself prints $10.00. A stop payment is a different row: $20.00 with a team member, or $12.50 online. Those are not the NSF fee.

Overdraft protection, if you have it and the item is inside the limit, is the other choice. That page says it does not charge an NSF fee. It is on ATB overdraft protection fee. The $10 table for the large banks does not include ATB. It is on Canada NSF fees by bank.
