What a Kindle Unlimited charge means on your statement
Kindle Unlimited is Amazon's monthly reading membership. It is not Prime, and it is not a marketplace order. Amazon's own charge table puts digital services, including Kindle books, on digital descriptors, and it tells you to open Your Digital Orders for Kindle Unlimited. Prime has a different set of descriptors and its own cancel screen.

How it shows, and how it differs from Prime
Amazon's identify a charge page lists descriptors in groups. Prime related charges include AMZ*Prime Shipping Club, amzn.com/bill, and AMAZON PRIME followed by a code and amzn.com/bill. Marketplace and bookstore purchases include Amazon.com, AMZN.COM/BILL, AMAZON MKTPLACE PMTS, and AMZN Mktp US. Digital services include Amazon Digital Svcs, amzn.com/bill, and Video on Demand. Amazon says those digital lines can be MP3s, Kindle books, app downloads, video downloads, software or games, or a Kindle Special Offers opt-out fee.
The same page says that if you bought a digital service such as a Prime Video channel or Kindle Unlimited, you are charged monthly, and you review those charges in Your Digital Orders. It does not print a separate required code that only means Kindle Unlimited. A line that only says AMZN can be a marketplace order, Prime, or a digital service. Open Your Transactions and Your Digital Orders and match the amount and the date. Prime itself is on what an Amazon Prime charge means. A marketplace line is on what AMZN Mktp means.
The identify page does not print a Kindle Unlimited price. This guide does not add one. The dollar on the statement is the one to match.
How to cancel on Amazon.com and Amazon.ca
Amazon.ca's cancel page, opened 17 October 2026, says to go to Manage your Kindle Unlimited Membership, sign in, and under Your Membership select Cancel membership. The membership stays active until the next billing date. After that date you lose access to content you have checked out. You can pause a monthly subscription for 1 month instead. The pause starts at the end of the billing cycle, then the subscription resumes unless you resume it sooner. You cannot pause during a free trial or a promotional period.
The matching Amazon.com cancel page did not return its text on 17 October 2026, so this guide does not copy a US only rule from it. Open that page from your Amazon.com account if the statement is in US dollars. Amazon.ca is the page for a Canadian account. Canceling Prime does not cancel Kindle Unlimited, and canceling Kindle Unlimited does not cancel Prime.
If the charge is on a card and you did not open Kindle Unlimited, check household accounts and Your Digital Orders before you dispute it. A charge you did not authorize is on dispute a charge in the US or dispute a charge in Canada.
Upload the statement on Expenvo. The PDF stays on your device. Expenvo groups the same merchant when a similar amount shows up again about a week, a month, or a year apart, and it lists a line that already says membership or subscription. You can also mark a name yourself. It does not cancel the plan, and it does not count the charge as savings. One month can miss a yearly renewal. - Is Kindle Unlimited the same line as Prime?
- No. Amazon lists Prime descriptors separately from digital services. Kindle Unlimited is in the digital services section, and Amazon says to review it in Your Digital Orders. Prime is managed on the Prime membership page.
- Does canceling stop access the same day?
- Amazon.ca says the membership remains active until the next billing date. After that, you lose access to titles you checked out.
- Can I pause Kindle Unlimited?
- Amazon.ca says you can pause a monthly subscription for 1 month, starting at the end of the billing cycle. You cannot pause during a free trial or a promotional period.
