What an MSFT or Microsoft charge means on your statement
People look up MSFT and MICROSOFT because those are the words on the statement. Microsoft's investigate page does not print one line for Xbox or Microsoft 365. It does print MICROSOFT*CANDY CRUSH for Candy Crush.

Why the line looks like that
Microsoft's investigate page lists the usual reasons for a charge you do not recognize. A subscription has recurring billing. Someone you know, such as a family member, used the card. A charge that was declined was charged again. A pre order or a split order shipped. Someone made an in app purchase from an app, a game, or office.
The same page says purchases made in Candy Crush may show as MICROSOFT*CANDY CRUSH, and to contact King support in the app or at community.king.com. It does not print a matching line for Xbox or for Microsoft 365. Do not guess one.
Match it to an order
Microsoft says to open Manage your payments on the Microsoft account dashboard and select Investigate. To see the order, sign in at account.microsoft.com/billing with the account that paid. Choose Payment and billing, then Order history, and pick the date range. Completed or Redeemed means the charge has posted. In progress has not posted to the payment method yet. Order details, then Print, opens an invoice.
If you have more than one Microsoft account, check the other one. Microsoft says the amount and description appear on the statement from the payment method you used, which can be a card or a phone bill. The order history page also links to a separate Xbox purchase history page. That link is the place for Xbox. This page does not copy Xbox's menu, because Microsoft's order history article does not print it.
Cancel the subscription that is billing you
Microsoft's cancel page applies to Microsoft 365 and gives ClipChamp and OneDrive as examples. Go to Subscriptions and sign in with the account that bought the subscription. Select Manage, then Cancel. It might say Upgrade or Cancel. If you see Turn on recurring billing instead of Manage, Microsoft says the subscription is already set to expire and you will not be charged after the date shown.
If the subscription was bought from Google Play or the Apple App Store, Microsoft says to cancel with that store. Microsoft cannot cancel a subscription a third party retailer billed.
Microsoft's cancel page says that in some countries you may be entitled to a prorated refund, depending on the subscription length. It names Canada for any subscription length. It does not put the United States in that sentence. Upload the statement to Expenvo and it lists every subscription it finds. Expenvo does not cancel a Microsoft subscription for you. Steps for stopping the next charge are on how to cancel a subscription you found on a statement.
Questions
- Does Microsoft print MSFT or MICROSOFT for every charge?
- No. The investigate page prints MICROSOFT*CANDY CRUSH for Candy Crush. It does not print one fixed line for Xbox or Microsoft 365.
- Where do I see a Microsoft 365 or Store charge?
- Sign in at account.microsoft.com/billing, then Payment and billing, then Order history. Completed or Redeemed means it posted. In progress has not posted yet.
- How do I stop a Microsoft subscription?
- On Microsoft's cancel page, open Subscriptions with the account that paid, choose Manage, then Cancel. If you see Turn on recurring billing, it is already set to expire. Apple and Google Play purchases are canceled in that store.
- Does canceling in Canada work the same way?
- The cancel steps on Microsoft's page are the same article for the account. The page says Canada is one of the countries where a prorated refund may apply, depending on the subscription length. It does not say that for the United States in that sentence.
