The card that prints no fee
Opened 31 October 2026. Citi's foreign transaction fee page for the Citi / AAdvantage Globe Mastercard says that, along with other premium travel benefits, the card does not charge foreign transaction fees. That sentence is this card. A Citi card that was not this page is not assigned 3%, or any other percent, here.
A purchase outside the United States on this card should not add a Citi foreign transaction fee. The network can still convert a foreign currency into U.S. dollars. That conversion is not the fee the page says is not charged.
How to avoid a Citi foreign transaction fee
Use the AAdvantage Globe Mastercard if you want the card whose page says it does not charge the fee. If you hold a different Citi card, open that card's pricing information. Do not borrow this card's no fee sentence for it.
A merchant offering to charge you in U.S. dollars is dynamic currency conversion.
