The $35 overdraft fee

Opened 21 October 2026. TD's overdraft services page prints $35 per item when the available balance is overdrawn by more than $50. There is no fee if the account is overdrawn by $50 or less. TD charges at most 3 overdraft fees per day on an account. The Grace Period lasts until 11 p.m. ET the next business day. If you bring the available balance to at least $0 by then, TD refunds the fee.

Savings is a different $35 line. The $50 threshold and the Grace Period do not apply to savings. A checking overdraft and a savings overdraft are not the same request.

The line on your own statement is the one that counts. Upload it on the upload page. The PDF stays on your device. Expenvo lists the lines. It does not call the institution.

Savings$35. The $50 threshold and the Grace Period do not apply

Which checking account

TD's compare checking page says Essential Banking has no overdraft fees or overdraft services. A footnote says a transaction can still overdraw that account. TD Beyond Checking adds Overdraft Payback, which reverses the first two overdraft fees in a calendar year, up to $70, and TD applies that reversal before the Grace Period. TD Complete Checking has the Grace Period.

The same compare page prints monthly fees of $25 for Beyond Checking, $15 for Complete Checking, and $4.95 for Essential Banking. Each account has its own way to waive the monthly fee. This page does not copy those waiver steps, because the overdraft dollar is the line people mix up with the monthly fee. Read the compare page for the waiver that matches the account name on your statement.

A Convenience Checking PDF still in TD's document library prints its own $35 overdraft line, a $15 monthly fee, $3 for a non-TD ATM withdrawal, and $0 at a TD ATM. Convenience Checking and Complete Checking are different names. Use the name printed on your statement, not the closest one on this page.
