Free Chequing, Free Debit, and More is the Coast Capital account with a $0 monthly fee on the comparison table. Sending an e-Transfer still has a price. This page does not promise every line on a statement is $0.

Free Chequing

These amounts are in Canadian dollars. They come from Coast Capital's chequing comparison page.

The comparison table lists the Free Chequing Account monthly fee as $0. Sending an Interac e-Transfer is $1.50. Receiving one is free. The paper or eStatement row lists eStatement only for that account, so this page does not call paper statements free. The table also has a row for unlimited day to day transactions across the accounts it compares. A dollar amount that is not in that table is not repeated here.

Unlimited Chequing is a different account on the same page: $8.50 a month, or $0 if you are 59 or older, 25 or younger, or you keep a $4,000 daily balance for the whole calendar month. With an eligible payroll or direct deposit, that page says the Unlimited fee is $3.50. Elevate Chequing is another account, listed at $16.95. Do not mix those fees into Free Chequing.

Find a fee on the statement

A monthly plan fee of $0 matches the Free Chequing column. An Interac e-Transfer fee of $1.50 is a different line. Write the date, the printed name, and the amount.

Twelve e-Transfers at $1.50 are $18. The result is arithmetic. It is not a quote from Coast Capital, and it is not money the credit union has agreed to return.

What to ask Coast Capital

Use the phone number on the statement if it is printed there. The comparison page lists 1-888-517-7000. Ask which chequing account is open, and whether the line is an e-Transfer send fee. Then ask Coast Capital to review it. They can say no.

Expenvo can list a bank fee that is already on a statement. It does not call Coast Capital.
