How to ask about a Delta SkyMiles Gold Amex fee
The public card is the Delta SkyMiles Gold American Express Card. The card page prints a $0 introductory annual fee for the first year, then $150. A statement credit for a flight or a hotel is not the same thing as that annual fee coming off. Asking American Express to remove a fee already charged is a request.

The fee the card page prints
Opened 19 October 2026. The Delta SkyMiles Gold American Express Card page prints an annual fee of $0 for the first year, then $150. The same page says the card has no foreign transaction fees from American Express. It does not print a dollar for an additional card in the fee block this guide uses. If your statement names a different Delta card, do not use $150 until you match the product.
The page also describes a $200 Delta Flight Credit after $10,000 in eligible purchases in a calendar year, and up to $100 back on prepaid hotels or vacation rentals booked through Delta Stays. Those are credits after spending. They are not a waiver of the $150. How to ask about an Amex Gold fee is the Membership Rewards Gold card, not this Delta card.
What to ask
Use the phone number on the statement if it is printed there. Have the date, the fee name, and the amount. Ask whether the charge is the annual fee for this card, a fee for an extra card, or a different product. Then ask the issuer to review the fee or remove it. They can say no. This page has no success rate. If the answer is no, ask the last day you can close so the next annual fee is not charged. This page does not tell you to close the card. The general page is how to ask about a card annual fee. Whether a fee already posted can come back when you close is on annual fee refund when you cancel. The PDF steps are on how to download an American Express statement.
Upload the statement on Expenvo. The PDF stays on your device. Expenvo lists the lines. It does not sign in to the bank or the card company, and it does not cancel a card.
Questions
- Is the Delta SkyMiles Gold annual fee $150 from the first year?
- The card page opened on 19 October 2026 prints $0 for the first year, then $150. Match the year on your statement before you treat a $150 charge as the renewal.
- Does a Delta flight credit remove the annual fee?
- No. The page describes those credits as separate benefits. A credit after you spend is not the annual fee being waived.
- Is this the same card as Amex Gold?
- No. Amex Gold is a different card, with its own fee page. Use the name on your statement.
- Will the issuer remove an annual fee it already charged if I ask?
- They might, and they might not. Asking is a request. A benefit on the card page is not a promise to erase a fee already on the statement.
