How to ask about an MBNA Rewards World Elite fee

MBNA Rewards World Elite Mastercard prints $120 for the primary cardholder and $50 for an additional cardholder. The Quebec page prints the same pair. Interest rates on those two pages are not identical. Asking MBNA to remove a fee already charged is a request. Amounts are in Canadian dollars.

The $120 and the $50

Opened 19 October 2026. The MBNA Rewards World Elite page prints $120 for the primary cardholder and $50 for an additional cardholder. It prints 21.99% for purchases and 22.99% for cash advances and balance transfers. It says personal annual income must be greater than $80,000, or household annual income must be $150,000 or greater. It also says product rates and fees may vary by region.

The Quebec card page prints the same $120 and $50. It prints 21.99% for purchases, cash advances, and balance transfers. Do not copy the 22.99% cash advance rate onto a Quebec account, and do not copy 21.99% onto the other page's cash advance line. MBNA's Quebec rewards list says the annual fee is posted on the first statement after the first use, then once a year on the anniversary date. Canadian credit card fees keeps annual fees apart from cash advances.

What to ask

Use the phone number on the statement if it is printed there. Have the date, the fee name, and the amount. Ask whether the charge is the annual fee for this card, a fee for an extra card, or a different product. Then ask the issuer to review the fee or remove it. They can say no. This page has no success rate. If the answer is no, ask the last day you can close so the next annual fee is not charged. This page does not tell you to close the card. The PDF steps are on how to download an MBNA statement. How to ask about a card annual fee is the general page.

Upload the statement on Expenvo. The PDF stays on your device. Expenvo lists the lines. It does not sign in to the bank or the card company, and it does not cancel a card.

Questions

Is the additional card free?
No. Both the main page and the Quebec page print $50 for an additional cardholder, next to $120 for the primary cardholder.
When does MBNA post the annual fee?
MBNA's Quebec rewards list says it is posted on the first statement after the first use, then once a year on the anniversary date.
Are the interest rates the same in Quebec?
The pages opened on 19 October 2026 are not the same. The main page prints 22.99% for cash advances. The Quebec page prints 21.99% for purchases, cash advances, and balance transfers. Both print $120 and $50.
Will the issuer remove an annual fee it already charged if I ask?
They might, and they might not. Asking is a request. A benefit on the card page is not a promise to erase a fee already on the statement.
