How to download an MBNA statement PDF

MBNA Canada keeps the official statement in online banking, for up to 7 years once you are on e-statements. The activity list on the screen is a shorter summary. Save the statement PDF yourself. Expenvo does not sign in to MBNA, and the PDF stays on your device.

Switch to e-statements, then open the PDF

MBNA's online banking page says that after you enroll you can receive statements quickly, open them from the account, and get an email when a statement is ready. The same page says e-statements have the same detail as paper statements, are available 24 hours a day, and can be viewed for up to 7 years.

The help centre prints the switch itself. Sign in at mbna.ca. Select the credit card. If you have more than one card, change each card on its own. Click Account Services. Under the statements banner, select Go Paperless. MBNA also says you can use the MBNA app for the same job. The help page notes that a Canada Post disruption delays paper statements, and that the online statement is how you keep the due date on time. Use the number on your statement if you cannot sign in.

The summary is not the statement

MBNA's own notice titled Not an Official Statement says the online summary is an overview of activity. It does not include everything on the official statement, including account disclosures, statement messages, notices, the interest calculation, and a summary of transaction types. MBNA says it provides up to 13 months of those summaries online, and that you can download the summary transactions into financial software. Thirteen months of a summary is not seven years of official statements. If you need the interest box, the minimum payment, or a notice, open the official statement.

Save that PDF, not a screenshot of the summary. A Canadian dollar MBNA statement stays in Canadian dollars. After you upload it, Expenvo lists the charges, the fees, and the subscriptions on your device. How to read a statement PDF covers one statement per file. MBNA is a card issuer. It is not the same download as RBC or TD, even if a bank logo appears on a co-brand card. Read the issuer name on the statement.

If you have more than one MBNA card, the help centre says you change the statement delivery on each card. A summary you export into a spreadsheet can be useful for a quick look at transactions, and it is still not the file with the interest calculation or the notices. For a dispute, or for a record of the minimum payment, use the official PDF. The Canadian steps for a charge you do not recognize are on how to dispute a charge in Canada. Card fees that the big banks print, which are a different issuer from MBNA, are on credit card fees by bank in Canada.

Paper statements and e-statements are a delivery choice. The help pages opened here do not print a fee for the PDF. They also do not print a fee for a copy of a year that is older than the 7 years of e-statements. If you need a year that is not on the screen, ask MBNA what they will charge before you order a mailed copy. A fee for a paper copy, when an issuer charges one, is the same kind of line as statement copy and research fees.
