How to download an RBC statement PDF
RBC's own tutorial says where the statement sits in online banking and in the app. Download that PDF yourself. Expenvo does not sign in to RBC, and the file stays on your device.
Online banking
These steps are from RBC's Access Your Account Statement tutorial.
From the Accounts Summary page, select Statements/Documents at the top right. On the Account Documents page, follow the instructions there to download and view the bank, credit card, investment, loan, mortgage, or tax document. A dropdown changes the statement period. Tax documents are a separate tab. The file you want for Expenvo is the account statement PDF, not a tax slip.
If the statement is not listed, RBC says to call 1-800-769-2511 or read their eDocuments FAQ. Use the number on your statement if it disagrees with this page.
The app, and what not to upload
In the RBC mobile app, the same tutorial says to tap More, then Statements under Services, then the account. Save the statement as a PDF if the phone offers a save or share sheet.
An ATM mini statement is a short printout. It is not the monthly PDF. How to read a statement PDF says to use one text PDF for one period, and to keep US dollars and Canadian dollars apart.
Questions
- Does Expenvo sign in to the bank and download the PDF for me?
- No. You download the PDF from the bank or card site. Expenvo reads that file on your device. It does not ask for the bank password.
- Can I upload a photo of the statement instead?
- A photo is harder to read. Use the PDF the bank creates, with text you can select. If the file asks for a password, download a copy that does not. Expenvo cannot open a locked PDF.
- What if the menu names do not match this page?
- Banks move buttons. Follow the official help page linked below. This guide is a reading of that page, not a second set of rules.
