How to ask about a Southwest Rapid Rewards Plus fee

Southwest Rapid Rewards Plus is the Chase card whose page prints a $99 annual fee on the first billing statement. That line does not say the first year is free. Premier and Priority are different cards with different fees. Asking Chase to remove a fee already charged is a request.

The $99 on the first statement

Opened 19 October 2026. The Southwest Rapid Rewards Plus Credit Card page prints an annual fee of $99 applied to the first billing statement. A comparison table on a related Chase page lists Plus at $99, Premier at $149, and Priority at $229. Use the name on your statement before you pick a row.

The Plus page also describes a first checked bag and anniversary points. Those are benefits. They are not a printed waiver of the $99. The page says there are no foreign transaction fees. How to ask about a United Explorer fee is a different airline card.

What to ask

Use the phone number on the statement if it is printed there. Have the date, the fee name, and the amount. Ask whether the charge is the annual fee for this card, a fee for an extra card, or a different product. Then ask the issuer to review the fee or remove it. They can say no. This page has no success rate. If the answer is no, ask the last day you can close so the next annual fee is not charged. This page does not tell you to close the card. The general page is how to ask about a card annual fee. The PDF steps are on how to download a Chase statement.

Upload the statement on Expenvo. The PDF stays on your device. Expenvo lists the lines. It does not sign in to the bank or the card company, and it does not cancel a card.
