Chase Sapphire has no foreign transaction fee

By Karla CastroUpdated October 31, 2026

Chase's no foreign transaction fee page says purchases made with the cards on that page, outside the U.S., will not be subject to foreign transaction fees. Sapphire Preferred, Sapphire Reserve, and Freedom Flex are on the page, and the page lists more cards than these three. A Chase card that is not on the page is not given a percent here.

Cards Chase lists with no fee

Opened 31 October 2026. The page is titled no foreign transaction fee credit cards. The introduction says purchases made with these credit cards outside the U.S. will not be subject to foreign transaction fees. Chase Sapphire Preferred, Chase Sapphire Reserve, and Chase Freedom Flex are on the list. Sapphire Reserve for Business is also on the list. The page lists more cards than these. This guide does not restate the whole list, and it does not print a percent for a Chase card that is absent from the list.

On a statement, a purchase outside the U.S. on one of those cards should not add a separate foreign transaction fee. The amount can still be converted from another currency by Visa or Mastercard. Conversion is not the same as the fee this page says is not charged.

How to avoid a Chase foreign transaction fee

Use a card Chase places on that no foreign transaction fee page. Sapphire Preferred, Sapphire Reserve, and Freedom Flex are three of the consumer cards on it. If your Chase card is not on the page, read that card's own pricing box. This guide does not copy another card's percent onto it.

A merchant that offers to bill you in U.S. dollars is dynamic currency conversion.

Chase's no foreign transaction fee page includes Sapphire Preferred and Sapphire Reserve. It says purchases outside the U.S. with the cards on that page are not subject to foreign transaction fees.
Does every Chase card have no foreign transaction fee?
The page does not say that. It lists specific cards. A Chase card that is not on the list is not given a percent on this page.
Is a currency conversion the same as the fee?
No. The network can still convert a foreign currency purchase into U.S. dollars. The fee Chase says it does not charge on these cards is a separate charge.
