Wells Fargo foreign transaction fee
By Karla CastroUpdated October 31, 2026
Wells Fargo's debit card terms print an international purchase transaction fee of 3% of the U.S. dollar amount, for each debit card purchase in a foreign currency that a network converts. The Autograph credit card page says that card has no foreign transaction fee.
The 3% debit fee
Opened 31 October 2026. The debit card terms and conditions list an international purchase transaction fee of 3% of the U.S. dollar amount. The footnote says that row is for each debit card purchase in a foreign currency that a network converts into a U.S. dollar amount. A non Wells Fargo ATM withdrawal is a different line on the same terms. The 3% is the debit card purchase fee, not that ATM line.
The purchase can show as one U.S. dollar amount. The 3% is the international purchase fee in the terms. It may be inside the converted total rather than a second line with those words.
Autograph has no foreign transaction fee
The Autograph Visa credit card page has a heading, No Foreign Transaction Fee. The question on that page, whether the Autograph credit card has a foreign transaction fee, is answered: the Autograph credit card has no foreign transaction fee. It says to read the important credit terms for the current rates and fees. That sentence is the credit card. It is not the debit card 3% row.
Using the Autograph card, instead of the debit card, is how that page says you are not charged a foreign transaction fee. A merchant that converts the price into U.S. dollars before you tap is dynamic currency conversion.
Upload the statement on Expenvo. The PDF stays on your device. Expenvo lists the lines. It does not sign in to the bank, and it does not move the money.
