Chase non-Chase ATM fee is $3
By Karla CastroUpdated October 31, 2026
On the Chase Total Checking fees page, a withdrawal at a Chase ATM is $0. A withdrawal at a non-Chase ATM is $3 in the U.S. and U.S. territories, and $5 outside those places. The ATM owner can still add a surcharge.
What the fees page prints
Opened 31 October 2026. Chase prints ATM fees at Chase ATMs as $0. It prints $3 per withdrawal at a non-Chase ATM in the U.S. and the U.S. territories, and $5 per withdrawal at a non-Chase ATM outside the U.S. and those territories. The territories named on the page are American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Surcharge fees charged by the ATM owner or network still apply. Chase may also add a foreign exchange rate adjustment when the withdrawal is not in U.S. dollars.
On a statement, the Chase fee can be its own line, separate from the cash you took. The owner's surcharge can be a second line, or it can be taken out of the cash before the receipt prints. Match the date and the ATM name before you treat a line as Chase's fee.
How to avoid the $3
Use a Chase ATM. The same page says that withdrawal is $0, and it says you can avoid surcharge fees by using a Chase ATM. A non-Chase machine in the U.S. is the $3 line, even if the cash looks like the only amount on the receipt.
Upload the statement on Expenvo. The PDF stays on your device. Expenvo lists the lines. It does not sign in to the bank, and it does not move the money.
