Citi non-Citi ATM fee is $2.50

Citi's account comparison prints a $2.50 fee per withdrawal at a non-Citi ATM for Regular Checking or Access Checking. The higher columns on that page print no fee. The ATM owner can still add a surcharge.
Who pays the $2.50
Opened 31 October 2026. The compare page prints "Regular Checking or Access Checking: $2.50 fee per withdrawal" under non-Citi ATM fees. It also says Citibank charges a $2.50 non-Citi ATM fee when you use a network ATM outside its surcharge-free network. Non-Citi ATM fees are waived for Citigold Private Client, Citigold, and Citi Priority. A Citi ATM, which the page calls a proprietary Citibank ATM in the U.S., is not that $2.50 line.
The $2.50 can post next to the cash withdrawal. A surcharge from the other bank is a different charge. Citi says the external bank or ATM owner may charge a surcharge.
How to avoid the $2.50
Use a Citibank ATM, or an ATM inside the surcharge-free network the page describes. If the account is Citigold Private Client, Citigold, or Citi Priority, the page says the non-Citi ATM fee is waived. Regular Checking and Access Checking are the $2.50 accounts on that comparison.
