CIBC bank draft is C$9.95
By Karla CastroUpdated November 2, 2026
CIBC's personal account service fees brochure dated March 12, 2026 prints bank drafts and money orders at C$9.95. Canadian currency, U.S. currency, and other foreign currency each print C$9.95. Clients 65 and older in CIBC Smart for Seniors can get bank drafts and money orders free, subject to the Smart Account terms.
The C$9.95 row
Opened 2 November 2026. Bank drafts and money orders are C$9.95 for Canadian currency, C$9.95 Canadian for U.S. currency, and C$9.95 Canadian for other foreign currency. A note says the fee can be in addition to a transaction fee. A replacement is no fee when the item is drawn in Canadian currency, and C$25.00 when it is drawn in U.S. currency or another foreign currency. The purchase fee can post as its own line.
CIBC Smart for Seniors, for clients aged 65 and older, includes free bank drafts and money orders. The brochure says that option is subject to the CIBC Smart Account terms, and that benefits depend on the account you hold. That free line is not the C$9.95 row.
Who prints free
If you are 65 or older and enrolled in Smart for Seniors, read the Smart Account terms before you treat the draft as free. Other personal accounts use the C$9.95 lines. A transaction fee, when the note says one applies, is extra. It is not a second copy of the C$9.95 unless the statement shows both.
Upload the statement on Expenvo. The PDF stays on your device. Expenvo lists the lines. It does not sign in to the bank, and it does not buy the check.
