National Bank cash advance fee
A National Bank Mastercard cash advance starts interest on the day you take it. The current information box does not print a separate cash advance fee in dollars. The interest rate on the listed cards is higher than the purchase rate. A 2.50% foreign currency fee is a different charge.

Interest starts the day you take the cash
Opened 20 October 2026. The information box for mycredit, Allure, Edition, MC1, ECHO Cashback, Escapade, Ovation Gold, Platinum, World, World Elite, and PB1859 World Elite prints 20.99% on purchases and 22.49% on cash advances and balance transfers. Syncro uses the prime rate plus a margin, with minimum rates printed in that box. This page does not copy the Syncro formula into the fixed rate cards.
Purchases have a grace period of 21 days after the end of the statement period, ending on the due date, if you pay the purchases in full before that date. Cash advances have no grace period. Interest begins the day the cash advance is made. The help page says the same thing in shorter words: interest is always charged on cash advances from the day of the transaction, even if you pay the card in full.
If you miss the minimum payment by the due date twice in a 12 month period, the box prints increased rates of 25.99% on purchases and 27.49% on cash advances and balance transfers for those listed cards, other than the Syncro line. Read the box for when the higher rate starts and when it ends. A missed payment can be counted again.
No separate cash advance dollar on this box
The information box and the cash advance help page do not print a fee such as a few dollars per withdrawal on top of the interest. Do not fill that gap from an older notice. The help page also says cash advances do not earn reward points or discounts.
The help page treats these as cash advances even when they are not a withdrawal: transferring money from the card to your bank account at an ABM, a balance transfer from another institution, an online money transfer, funding a digital wallet, online lottery and gambling, and overdraft protection. It does not use the words Interac e-Transfer.
Foreign currency is separate. The box converts a foreign currency transaction to Canadian dollars at the Mastercard daily rate, then charges 2.50% on the Canadian dollar amount. The help page for that fee says 2.5% on the Canadian dollar amount after conversion. That is not a cash advance fee. The bank table is foreign currency conversion fees by Canadian bank.
RBC, Scotiabank, TD, and CIBC cash advance wording is on cash advance fees and interest. Desjardins is on Desjardins cash advance fee. Wealthsimple is on Wealthsimple Visa cash advance.
