RBC closing fee is C$20 in one case

RBC's additional account services page prints account closing as free within 15 days, free when the balance moves to another RBC account, and C$20.00 when it does not and you do not close at the branch. The page does not print a monthly paper statement fee.
Paper statement
Opened 2 November 2026. The page prints copy fees, including a search under 90 days at C$5.00 an item and a mailed cheque image at C$10.00, free for eStatement accounts. It does not print a monthly dollar for the regular mailed statement. This page does not turn that silence into C$0.
A copy you ask for is a different line from the statement RBC sends on its own. Match the description on your statement before you call a C$5 or C$10 line the monthly paper fee.
Closing the account
Closing within 15 days of opening is free. After 15 days, closing is free when the balance is transferred to another RBC Royal Bank account or product. After 15 days, if the balance is not transferred, closing is free when you close in person at the branch, and C$20.00 per account when you do not. Inactive account notices are a different table.
