The $48 fee

Opened 21 October 2026. The figures are from the Servus financial service fees page. Non Sufficient Funds (NSF) applies to cheques, AFTs, and EFTs, and the amount is $48. Coverdraft, funds transferred from one account to another to cover an overdraft, is $5 per transfer.

The page does not print a daily cap or a small-shortfall waiver on that NSF row, so this guide does not add one. Safety deposit box fees on the same page are marked pre-GST. The NSF row itself is printed as $48, without a separate tax note on that line.

The line on your own statement is the one that counts. Upload it on the upload page. The PDF stays on your device. Expenvo lists the lines. It does not call the institution.

How to avoid it

The $48 posts when a cheque, AFT, or EFT does not have the funds. Coverdraft is the smaller line on the same page, $5 per transfer, when another Servus account can cover the shortfall. That transfer is not the same charge as the $48 NSF fee.

Servus is a provincial credit union, so the federal $10 NSF cap for personal deposit accounts at federally regulated banks does not automatically set this dollar. The fee on your statement is the one to ask about. Monthly package waivers are on how to waive a Servus monthly fee.
