How to waive a TD Bank US savings fee

TD Bank checking waivers are already on the TD monthly fee page. This page is the two US savings accounts on TD's savings page, opened 19 October 2026. Signature Savings is $15 a month. Simple Savings is $5 a month. Each one prints its own ways to make that fee $0. The figures are in US dollars.

TD Signature Savings

The savings page lists a monthly fee of $15 for TD Signature Savings. It lists two ways to waive the monthly maintenance fee. Maintain a minimum daily balance of $10,000. Or link the account to an eligible TD Beyond Checking or TD Complete Checking account. Either path is enough. The page does not print an age waiver for Signature Savings.

Signature Savings also says non-TD ATM fees are waived and ATM fees are reimbursed when the minimum daily balance is at least $2,500. The footnote says TD fees are waived regardless of balance, and non-TD fees, including a surcharge at the terminal, are reimbursed at that $2,500 balance. The $2,500 path is the ATM reimbursement. It is not the path that waives the $15 monthly fee. The monthly fee still uses the $10,000 balance or the linked checking account.

The same page lists free services on Signature Savings, including incoming wire transfers, official bank checks, money orders, and stop payments. Those are separate from the monthly fee. Official check prices when they are not free are on official check and money order fees. A rate bump for linking an eligible account is an interest feature. The page says fees may reduce earnings. This guide does not quote an APY, because the rate table did not print a number.

TD Simple Savings

TD Simple Savings lists a monthly fee of $5. The page lists three ways to waive it. Maintain a minimum daily balance of $300. Or link the account to an eligible TD Beyond Checking or TD Complete Checking account. Or the primary account holder is 18 or under, or 62 or older. The later list on the same page says under 18 or over 62. Use the wording on the account you open, and ask TD if a birthday month is in question. This guide does not invent a fourth waiver.

There is no minimum opening deposit required to open the account. If you do not make a deposit within 45 days, TD says the account will automatically close. That 45 day rule is about keeping a new account open. It is not a monthly fee waiver.

Both savings accounts can be linked for Savings Overdraft Protection on a TD checking account. TD says that protection includes no transfer fees when the accounts are linked, and that you enroll in person. Overdraft services do not apply to TD Essential Banking. The checking monthly fees for Beyond, Complete, and Essential are on how to waive a TD monthly fee. Do not use the savings $300 or $10,000 figures to waive a checking fee.

Other savings lines on the fee schedule

The personal fee schedule marked 07/26 prints $3.00 per item for excess pre-authorized withdrawals, transfers, or checks on money market and savings accounts after six in a monthly period. Club accounts print $3.00 after three withdrawals. Those lines are not the $15 or the $5 monthly fee. A paper statement is $3.00 per cycle on that schedule, with the exceptions printed for some checking accounts. Match the name on the statement before you treat every $3 line as the same fee.

Customer service on the savings page is 1-888-751-9000. Have the date, the fee name, and the amount. Ask whether the daily balance stayed at or above the minimum every day, and whether the linked checking account is Beyond or Complete. A different TD checking account is not described as the link that waives these savings fees.

A credit back is money returned. It is not a new expense. Upload the statement on Expenvo. The PDF stays on your device. Expenvo lists the lines. It does not sign in to the bank or the company, and it does not cancel a plan. How to read a statement PDF shows the fee and any credit on the same file.
