Official check and money order fees at Citi and TD Bank

An official check is a bank check. A money order is a smaller paper payment you buy at the branch. Cashier's check prices at Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, and Comerica are already on the draft page. This page is the official check and money order rows that those pages did not carry, from Citi's compare table and TD Bank's US fee schedule, both opened 19 October 2026.

Citi

Citi's compare page prints an official check fee of $10 on the everyday tier. Citi Priority and Citigold show that fee as waived. The same table prints a money order fee of $5 on the everyday tier, and waived in Citi Priority and Citigold. The everyday tier is a combined average monthly balance from $0 to $29,999.99. Priority starts at $30,000. Citigold's starting range on that page is $200,000 to $999,999.99, with a maintain range of $180,000 to $999,999.99.

Those two rows are not the monthly savings fee. The everyday savings monthly service fee on the same page is $4.50, with its own waiver. A stop payment request on the everyday tier is $30, and it is waived in the relationship tiers. This guide quotes that stop payment dollar only so you do not mix it with the official check. The longer stop payment table is on stop payment fees.

Citi says terms, fees, and waivers can change. The compare page tells you to review the Consumer Deposit Account Agreement for fees the monthly service fee does not cover. If the teller quotes a different official check price, ask which tier the account is in that month. A relationship tier that lapses can put the everyday $10 back on the next check.

TD Bank in the United States

TD Bank's Personal Fee Schedule, marked 5911-RET (07/26), prints money orders at $5.00 and official checks at $8.00. Those are the schedule amounts. The PDF also prints a waiver chart. The checkmarks are not labeled clearly enough in the text extract to say which personal account waives the official check. This guide does not guess a column.

TD Signature Savings, on the savings page opened the same day, lists free services that include official bank checks, money orders, and stop payments, along with incoming wire transfers. That sentence is a perk of Signature Savings. It is not printed on this page as a perk of TD Simple Savings. Simple Savings has its own monthly fee, covered on how to waive a TD Bank US savings fee.

The same fee schedule prints $3.00 per item for excess pre-authorized withdrawals, transfers, or checks on money market and savings accounts after six in a monthly period. Club accounts print $3.00 after three. Those are withdrawal fees, not the price of the official check. A paper statement is $3.00 per cycle on that schedule, free for TD Complete primary holders aged 60 and above, and $1.00 for TD Essential Banking only. A paper statement is a different line from the check you buy at the counter.

What the other banks already published

Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, and Comerica cashier's check dollars are on bank draft and cashier's check fees. This page does not repeat them. A bank that was not opened for an official check row is left out. A money order bought at a post office or a retailer is a different seller. The bank schedule does not set that price.

On the statement, look for official check, cashier's check, money order, or a branch fee with the date you stood at the counter. The amount should match the schedule for your tier unless a waiver applied. If it does not, call the number on the statement with the date and the amount. Asking for a review is a request. The bank can say the fee stands.

A wire is an electronic transfer, with its own fee. Do not subtract a wire fee from an official check fee. Upload the statement on Expenvo. The PDF stays on your device. Expenvo lists the lines. It does not sign in to the bank or the company, and it does not cancel a plan. How to read a statement PDF keeps a branch fee apart from a purchase.
