What a HULU charge means on your statement

People look up HULU because that is the text on the statement. Hulu's US help pages do not print that exact line. They tell you who bills the account, and where past charges are listed. These pages are the US help center. This guide does not describe a Canada Hulu plan.

Why the line looks like that

Hulu's view charges page says a plan can be monthly or annual. If Hulu, Amazon, or Roku bills you, past and upcoming charges are on the Hulu Account page. If Disney, Spotify, T-Mobile, or Verizon bills you, Hulu says to ask that company. Past charges: Account page, Upcoming Charges, View History next to Billing History. Upcoming charges: View Charges, up to 12 charges. That page does not print the letters HULU.

A plan or add on change in the middle of a cycle is prorated until the next monthly billing date, then the full monthly price. Hulu says refunds appear in Billing History and may take 7 to 10 business days to show on the bank statement.

A charge that is not the monthly fee

Hulu's account charges page says a charge other than the monthly fee can be a plan change, a new payment method, taxes based on the billing address, or a bank fee. When you sign up or add a payment method, Hulu says there is an authorization hold, typically $1, though other amounts are possible. The hold checks the payment method. Hulu says it is generally reversed immediately on Hulu's side. Some banks take 3 to 5 business days.

How to cancel if Hulu bills you

Hulu's cancel page says that if Hulu bills you, use a computer or a mobile browser. Open the Account page, choose Cancel under Your Subscription, and if you are offered a pause, choose Continue to Cancel if you are not pausing, then Cancel Subscription. The status becomes Your subscription will be canceled. Hulu sends a confirmation email. Access lasts until the end of the current billing cycle, then there is no further charge. The same is true for a free trial. If a third party bills you, cancel with that party. The Account page, under Payment Information, names who bills you.

Hulu's thought canceled article, dated 5 June 2026, says Your next charge means the plan is still active. Your subscription is about to cancel means it is cancelled with access for the rest of the cycle. Renew your subscription means it is fully cancelled. A third party bill may not show these lines. Hulu's terms say to cancel before 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time the day before the next recurring billing date. Upload the statement to Expenvo and it lists every subscription it finds. Expenvo does not cancel Hulu for you. Steps for stopping the next charge are on how to cancel a subscription you found on a statement.
