How to ask about a CIBC Aeroplan Visa Infinite annual fee

CIBC Aeroplan Visa Infinite is not Aeroplan Visa Infinite Privilege, and it is not the no fee Aeroplan Visa. The fee summary prints $139 now and $159 starting January 12, 2027. The authorized user fee prints $50 now and $80 on that same date. TD's Aeroplan Visa Infinite is a different bank. Asking CIBC to remove a fee already charged is a request.

The fee, and the date it changes

Opened 19 October 2026. CIBC's summary of annual interest rates and fees, marked 11995-2026/10, prints CIBC Aeroplan Visa Infinite at $139 for the primary cardholder, with $159 effective January 12, 2027. Each authorized user is $50, with $80 effective January 12, 2027. The same table prints Aeroplan Visa Infinite Privilege at $599, rising to $699, and $149 for each authorized user, rising to $159. Privilege is not this card. Aeroplan Visa, without Infinite, is in the list of cards that are not charged a primary or authorized user annual fee. Match the words on the statement.

Annual fees post when the application is approved and the card is issued, whether or not you activate, and annually afterwards. For personal cards other than CIBC Select Visa and the Costco cards, the summary prints 21.99% on purchases and 22.99% on cash advances, balance transfers, and convenience cheques, or 21.99% on those cash items for Quebec residents. A foreign currency transaction adds a 2.5% conversion fee on the converted amount, on both debits and credits. That 2.5% is not the annual fee. TD's Aeroplan card is how to ask about a TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite fee. CIBC Dividend Visa Infinite is how to ask about a CIBC Dividend Visa Infinite fee. Aventura Visa Infinite is $139 and $50 on this summary, with no January 2027 increase printed on that row, and it is how to ask about a CIBC Aventura fee.

Which dollar is on the statement

Before January 12, 2027, the summary's current dollars are $139 and $50. On and after that date, the summary's new dollars are $159 and $80. CIBC can still change the summary. If the statement and the PDF disagree, use the statement and ask which document applies. A fee that posts in December 2026 can still be the $139 even if you read this page in 2027. Look at the date of the charge, not the date you noticed it.

A welcome points offer is not a waiver of the annual fee unless the statement shows a credit in dollars. Points and a fee can both be real. Canadian credit card fees keeps them apart. How to ask about a card annual fee is the general page.

What to ask

Use the phone number on the statement if it is printed there. Have the date, the fee name, and the amount. Ask whether the charge is the primary fee or an authorized user fee, and whether the January 12, 2027 schedule already applies. Then ask CIBC to review the fee or remove it. They can say no. This page has no success rate. If the answer is no, ask about a product change and the last day to close before the next annual fee. This page does not tell you to close the card. Closing can affect Aeroplan points. Ask that separately. The PDF steps are on how to download a CIBC statement.

Questions

Is $159 the fee today?
The summary marked 2026/10 prints $139 until January 12, 2027, and $159 on that date. Use the charge date on the statement. CIBC can change the summary before then.
Is Privilege the same annual fee?
No. The same summary prints Aeroplan Visa Infinite Privilege at $599, rising to $699 on January 12, 2027. Infinite without Privilege is the $139 and $159 card.
Does the no fee Aeroplan Visa use these dollars?
No. The summary says CIBC Aeroplan Visa, without Infinite, is not charged a primary or authorized user annual fee. Infinite is the fee card.
Will CIBC remove an annual fee it already charged if I ask?
They might, and they might not. Asking is a request. Nothing on this page says CIBC has to waive a fee already on the statement.
