How to ask about the CIBC Aventura Visa Infinite annual fee
The CIBC Aventura Visa Infinite annual fee is a charge for the card. The card page prints $139 and says the first year is rebated. A later year is a different question. CIBC Smart Account can rebate a credit card annual fee by tier, and that rebate is scheduled to end. Asking CIBC to remove a fee already on the statement is a request. They can say no.

What the card page prints
The CIBC Aventura Visa Infinite card page, opened 19 October 2026, prints an annual fee of $139 and says the first year is rebated. Additional cards are $50 each, for up to 3 additional cards. The same page describes a one time annual fee rebate of $139 for the primary cardholder and $50 each for up to three authorized users, which it adds up to $189. Treat those sentences as the first year offer on that page, not as a promise that year two is free. The page also prints a minimum income of $60,000 individual or $100,000 household. Purchase and cash interest on the page were placeholders when it was opened, so this guide does not print an interest percent.
Under the heading about this not being the right card, the page lists the CIBC Aventura Visa Infinite Privilege card, the CIBC Aventura Gold Visa card, the CIBC Aventura Visa card, Aeroplan Visa cards, and the CIBC U.S. Dollar Aventura Gold Visa card. It does not print a fee to switch. A different card has its own annual fee. Ask CIBC what they would charge before you agree to a change. Other CIBC card fees already collected are on credit card fees by bank in Canada.
The Smart Account rebate is a separate page
CIBC's live chequing page for this rebate is the CIBC Smart Account, not a product named Smart Plus. The fees page, opened 19 October 2026, puts the account in Tier 1, Tier 2, or Tier 3. Tier 1 has no annual fee rebate. Tier 2 is up to $50 for the primary cardholder. Tier 3 is up to $139 for the primary cardholder and up to $50 each for up to 3 authorized users. The same rows say that, effective 1 January 2027, this credit card annual fee rebate will be discontinued. The fee table does not print the name Aventura Visa Infinite in the rebate row. The footnote is on the page. Ask CIBC whether your card is one of the cards that footnote covers before you count on the rebate.
Tier 1's monthly account fee on that page is $16.95, or $17.95 effective 1 January 2027, or $0 when one CIBC Smart Account keeps an end of day balance of $4,000 each day of the month. Tier 2 and Tier 3 show a $0 monthly fee. That monthly fee is the bank account, not the card. The account waiver steps are on how to waive a CIBC monthly fee. Figures can change. The January 2027 lines are already printed, so read the page again if your statement is after that date.
What to ask, and where the fee sits
Look for annual fee or a rebate credit in the fees section of the card statement. Write the date and the amount. A purchase is not this fee. A first year rebate that has not posted yet is not the same as a fee CIBC has already agreed to remove in a later year. Call the number on the statement. Ask which offer the account is on, whether the Smart Account tier paid any of it, and whether a lower Aventura card is available. They can say no.
The PDF steps are on how to download a CIBC statement. Upload the statement on Expenvo. The PDF stays on your device. Expenvo lists the lines. It does not sign in to the bank or the card company, and it does not cancel a card or a purchase.
